Trump Peace prize application

Dear Donald Trump,

I understand that you have applied for the Nobel Peace Prize. Your application will be reviewed soon by the Norwegian Nobel committee.  In looking over your application, there are some areas that could use some editing in order to make a stronger argument to strengthen your candidacy. The Nobel Prizes are awarded on the principle “for the greatest benefit to humankind” and some of your examples seem to run counter to that.  Your cutting of funding for USAID and Food for Peace might be a red flag for the committee.  This program sent surplus grain from US wheatgrowers to provide food assistance globally to those in need. The US wheatgrowers themselves insist “there is power in humanitarian assistance and US farmers support the work to feed…those in need today.”  You might want to tweak that.  Renaming the Department of Defense the Department of War seems counterintuitive when vying for a Peace Prize.  Possibly delete? You note you have ended seven (is it seven? That number seems to be in flux) wars, with little evidence from the parties involved to support your claim. Your mention of extrajudicial  blowing up of speed boats in international waters in the name of fighting a drug war is a bit weak, and could use some concrete information to back up and justify your actions. (sorry to seem to be piling on, but it’s really to help you improve your prospects for winning this award) Additionally, it is doubtful the committee will look favorably on a democratic leader who sends military troops into his own cities to shut down peaceful demonstrations against ICE or near government buildings. And labeling any political resistance as “domestic terrorism” likely will not go over well. In that regard, as you edit,  it might  behoove you not to conflate “peace” with “police state.” They are not the same thing. At all. Especially in a democracy.

I know this seems like a lot, and I offer this advice only to help you bolster your application before the Nobel committee. Changing your actions to actually benefit humankind, including ALL your fellow Americans, surely will help your cause as you keep your eyes on this coveted prize.

Signed,

An American for peace

Karma's a bitch.
