The vulnerable  incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick is undergoing a refresh! Governor Shapiro’s a good guy! I invited him to my wedding! He will win the governor’s race (sorry, Stacy)! And if Shapiro wants to run for president? “Anybody that wants to run should run.” Pardon the whiplash, but a vulnerable incumbent’s gotta do what he’s gotta do. And we gotta love the smell of desperation in the morning.  Actions speak louder than words.  Fitzpatrick cast the deciding vote to pass the first version of Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill (215-214). On April 16, he cast the deciding vote to block enforcement of the 1973 War Powers Act. On both occasions, when his vote truly mattered, he bled MAGA red.  Fitzpatrick said in an interview that it is “key to have a physical presence in the community.” He has not held a public town hall since 2017. Yet now, as part of his rehabilitation? Renaissance? Hail Mary?,  he assures us he is most at home within the Problem Solvers Caucus, and would be a registered independent if not for Pennsylvania’s closed primary system. Give us a break.  And give us more credit, Mr Fitzpatrick.  No amount of empty gestures, of donning a Flyers jersey or waving around Bryce Harper Phillies apparel  can disguise your true partisan Republican colors. We are not remotely fooled by your transparent  attempts to cloak yourself in words of bipartisan appeasement.
