Reality Refutation
The Presidency of the United States is a big job and it is more and more clear that Donald Trump simply is not up to it. There are those who liken Trump’s cruel ineptitude to a person playing checkers while other world leaders play 3-D chess. I would suggest rather that as global leaders play 3-D chess, Trump is playing “Go Fish.” When reality is beyond the grasp of this low I.Q. president, denial is his only resort - refuting reality like the Looney Tunes ostrich sticking its head in the sand. Climate change? A HOAX. Affordability? A HOAX! Remember back in 2020 in the early days of Covid,Trump wanted to prevent the Grand Princess cruise ship, which had 21 identified Covid cases, from coming into port. “I like the numbers being where they are. I don’t need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault.” The latest? Trump’s banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House because they “constantly write or report fiction or lies” further adding, “The New York Times is fake news, the Washington Post is fake news.”
The Head-in-the-sand refutation of reality permeates Trump’s administration as the Pentagon chooses to underreport the number of service members who have died amid the Iran War (it’s more than 18). The conditions on the USS Abraham Lincoln were just fine. House Speaker Mike Johnson dismissed Congress early (yay! recess!) to avoid voting on a resolution to impeach Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and to prevent legislation on regulating artificial intelligence. Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr is suggesting that PA governor Josh Shapiro may have fabricated two deaths from measles to score political points, using his personal account on X to accuse the governor of gaslighting.
Reality is out there despite what Trump and his admini-minions are insisting. No denial, no burying of facts, no early recess or gaslighting on their part changes our truth: the loss of life, the price at the gas pump, in the grocery store, of our utility bills. Our heads are most definitely not in the sand. “Go Fish” Trump himself (unknowingly) said it best. “Pretend I’m on the ballot” because we need a “STRONG AND SMART (High IQ) PRESIDENT.” Oh, the irony! Truer words. Let’s go to the polls and do exactly as he asks. Checkmate.
